Backstage West

...Buddy/Buddette encounters Frankinsense (Elizabeth Berridge), an agoraphobic rape victim who quickly falls for the passionate but selfish crime fighter...Berridge steals the show as a mousy victim who slowly emerges into a strong individual. Her strength is supplemented by powerful performances from Dean Gregory and Luis Villalta as her attackers-turned-supporters. - Sarika Chawia

Los Angeles Times, July 25, 2003

Particularly effective are Elizabeth Berridge as an agoraphobic rape victim and Dean Gregory (alternating in the role with Kevin Corrigan) as a rapist-turned-woman who falls in love with his former victim. - F. Kathleen Foley

Backstage West, July 31, 2002

There's a great, weird play in the story of an agoraphobic rape victim (raw, extraordinary Elizabeth Berridge) learning to forgive her assailants (well-acted turns by Dean Gregory and Luis Villalta). - Rob Kendt

L.A. Weekly

Elizabeth Berridge and Dig Wayne deliver exceptional performances.

Our sexually ambiguous protagonist soon realizes there's no magic formula for world peace, but finds a beacon of hope much closer to home, by restoring the faith of Frankinsense (Elizabeth Berridge). This agoraphobic, traumatized crime victim undergoes a spiritual rebirth when she falls in love with the androgynous Juanita (Dean Gregory)--a "he" whom Buddette turned into a "she."...The large acting ensemble is magnificent, highlighted by Berridge's deeply moving characterization, Wright's hilarious portrayals of the noble nebbish and his hip female counterpart, and Gregory as the befuddled she-male.
